Which cover do you prefer?

I've recently been working on my next book, which I'll be releasing soon - a book on getting the most from business/personal development books that you read!

Starting the week thinking about the cover.

Which of these two cover designs do you prefer - A or B?

  • It was a tough choice but I would have to say B, the text stands out more clearly and is more eye catching.

    • Thank you! Most people have gone with B too. 😀

  • B. Love the simplicity. Very clear and clean

    • B definitely seems to be the popular option.

(It's also along the lines of my existing book covers, plus matches my Books & Networking leaflets too... which is a bonus and what I was trying to go for with Cover B!)

Interestingly, B is a mock-up of what a cover would look like if I used Amazon KDP's cover creator tool (rather then designing my own - i.e. A) so interesting from that point of view that most people are going with B! :)

  • Cover B is the easier to read and stands out more, however its a little boxy. Title/image/subtitle/author.  Perhaps the image needs to soften/blur out at the top and bottom a little so the lines are not so prominent across the page.

Just my opinion Simon, but Cover 2 is definitely the more eyecatching of the two.

    • Thank you! That's an interesting idea with the image! Especially as the yellow was meant to match the yellow in the image. :)

  • That's a tough one Simon, I like them both! I like the colours of the books in the background on the left but the text is easier to read against the yellow on the right. That probably doesn't help does it!

    • B seems to be the popular choice at the moment, although I've just been experimenting some more with the design/layout for A...

    • Thank you!

With A, I did think I could put the subtitle under the red background in the main title, to make it easier to read (perhaps also changing the read to yellow). 😀

      • Another vote for B
