Scones Revisited

It's been a while since I added a scone and/or baking related photo!

Has anyone been baking at home recently? What have you been making?

I made these wholemeal scones earlier in the week (after finding wholemeal plain flour in M&S):

I'll also take this opportunity to add a cheeky plug for my recipe software - created last year following the increased interest in home baking during lockdown - ideal for keeping your recipes and notes in one place so they are easy to refer to.

Available for free (you don't even need to provide an e-mail address!) at: https://www.libraryplayer.co.uk/2020/11/pittrecipes.html

  • Hi Simon - had you asked this last week I'd probably have reported back excitedly how materials had arrived with the shopping order that suggested baking was imminent. They're still untouched, but hope reigns supreme. My son is an absolute legend at Lemon Drizzle Cake when he wants to be. I may have to grab the spoon and get going myself if the wait goes on much longer. By the way, love the software idea. Will this mean we can save space by getting rid of physical books as well and simply keeping pictures?

    • Don't think can ever get rid of recipe books - something nice about browsing through them!

However will allow any favourite recipes to be saved in one place, so they can be found and made again and again - plus adding own notes rather then writing in a book, finding a recipe among websites, etc.!

I've often made lemon drizzle cake for my mum, as one of her favourite cakes. Hopefully baking is still iminent, and a "send cake" button can be added to ABN so you can share with everyone! ;-)

  • Good work Simon!

    • Thank you Andrew - wonder if Jack Bauer would like a scone? ;-)
