World Camera Day

3434963685?profile=RESIZE_710xToday marks #WorldCameraDay!! Did you know the first phone with a built-in camera was manufactured by Samsung and released in South Korea in June of 2000. The SCH-V200 flipped open to reveal a 1.5-inch TFT-LCD, and the built-in digital camera was capable of taking 20 photos at 350,000-pixel resolution, which is 0.35-megapixels!! What was the first phone you had with a camera?

  • Damn, 2000! I had a Phillips Savvy as my first phone, replaced by a Nokia 3210 and think my first camera phone was a wee Samsung flip!
  • Think there must be a world day for pretty much everything now ;-) My teenage daughters can't believe that phones didn't have cameras once upon a time - shocking ;-) My first phone was a Nokia but I can't remember the number but it was 1997 I remember that much - maybe a 310 or something. I really didn't want one and had resisted for ages but now can't live without my one to check emails etc
    • There does seem to be a world day for everything these days :0) My first phone was the Motorola Cellular One 1 Brick Phone with pull up antenna - now classed as vintage!! I think the best Nokia phone, which I also had was the Nokia 3310, which has now been reinvented!!
