I'm often asked - "What EXACTLY do you do for a business by making them a podcast?"

  • Enjoyed the cows, not cow series.  i have to admit that podcasts usually on my playlist, but looking forward to the sequel

    • Thank-you Mark!

    • Thanks Mark. I think the follow-up will be even better. I've resisted a strong temptation to make any kind of attempt at bovine comical reference within my post here, but I'm sure Andrew will be unable to help himself.

  • How about a podcast on the merits of Scotland's national drinks versus bourgeois, sorry, boujee craft beers (mentioning no local brewers who have been in the new recently, of course!)? Maybe 'Yes sir, I can boujee'?? (Sorry!)

    • Wow. "Yes, sir I can Boujee".

OK, so here's the concept. Martin Compston, who loves Tennents so much they installed his own bespoke Tennents Lager Pump in his home bar in the States, hosts a chat show type series which has 3 elements in every episode. 1) Martin chats to famous Scots (some ex footballers included, others just fans) about Scotland making it to the Euros, the years of horror shows, the highs and lows, the nearlies. This part is the interview element. 2) It  looks at famous Scots and what they gave the world. Alexander Graham Bell - the telephone. Is this better than a can of Tennents? No, because once empty a can of Tennents can be used to create a communication device with another empty can and a length of string. Can a telephone also be deployed as a thirst quenching drink? No. Tennents beats the telephone. 3)The show will always be recorded in front of a live audience in a pub venue. Drinks supplied by Tennents and there will always be a live, blind taste test between Tennents and a craft beer. Tentatively called T For 2(000) {Number of guests at each episode recording} NEXT!

      • Outstanding. You have really thought this through. So all we need to do now is find some string to go with the many empty cans of Tennents??

        • I can't be expected to do everything Andrew.....

          Bagsy, I bring the cans.

  • Happy to recommend John 100%. He pushed me on to do 'Cows, Not Cow' and I'm so glad I did. Now we're planning the sequel!

    • Thanks Andrew. That's kind of you, and yes, looking forward to the follow up!

  • By the way, my absolute favourite challenge right now happened by chance the other day when someone suggested that it's impossible to make a successful podcast about EVERY kind of business. "You couldn't" they said, "do one for an undertaker!"

15 minutes later, the broad outline of the concept for a show called "Set In Stone" was born. It's currently under consideration.....

Try me. I'll give it a go.
