With all the complex accounting and taxation rules nowadays, how can you be sure you are claiming everything you should be and at the right times?

As an accountant, much of my work revolves around looking at historic information, but that doesn't stop me from helping you plan for the future of your business.  Accountants are much more aware of the tax rules and upcoming changes to those rules, allowing us to help you make decisions that can let you take advantage of tax breaks or avoid possible tax issues in the future.

In a lot of cases, timing is everything.  For example the timing of capital expenditure, like buying a new van – bringing the purchase forward into month 12 of your year will ensure you get the tax breaks in the current year, whereas waiting till month 1 of the new year means that you won’t get the tax breaks for another 12 months.

It's well worth speaking to your accountant in advance of your financial year end (around months 9 or 10) to see if there is anything you could take advantage of in your current year.  Similarly, your accountant can help you plan for your personal future with business exit strategies and retirement plans.  Links to our free Financial planning retirement guide and inheritance tax planning/succession team are below:

Remember - Timing can be everything - so don't miss the boat!

Where I come in Poland, people are a bit apprehensive about using payed services such as Financial Adviser. But it is totally true that a good advice can save you a fortune in long run.

    • Hi Karol, good to see you back on the ABN network again.  You are right the long term savings far outweight the costs
