Reflection on a year we would rather forget.

We have been reflecting quite a bit this week as we prepare our end of year communications. From picking our favourite articles from the year, to our highlights, it isn't until you look back that you realise just how much you have achieved.

For RARE Revolution we have published 7 editions this year, onboarded a new member of the team, run 2 specialist campaigns, launched four new feature opportunities and our amazing RARE Youth Revolution.

But for me, my top highlight has been the way in which our team have pulled together to hit deadlines and launch new creative and impactful initiatives all whilst juggling home schooling and crappy internet. I hope 2020 is remembered as the year of the work force. Because as governments have had no choice but to try and stop the world it's our employees that have ensured it is still here when it starts to turn again.

Incase anyone is looking for some holiday reading here are my favourite RARE Rev 2020 articles

I would love to hear what are your 2020 highlights?

  • Dispite COVID 2020 hasn't been too bad for me to be honest, start of the year got deployed out to Afgahnistan for 6 months, during my time out there I officially launched my company (Abervail). I returned to the Uk finding everything changed with COVID haha, I then started to work alongside Cyril Bruce-Cathline to create an identity for my company and incorropate the city to give the company life (a beating heart, if you wish). I then relaunched the company mid November pushing the face of the company out there and gaining a stong paltform on social media to start with.

Every peron or company I have worked along side to get my company started are all locally based in Aberdeen this is the one thing that I believe as a clothing company I can say that will potentially make us unique from anywhere else we are local based, support other local businesses and also being supported by local businesses, I believe I could make this company somthing successful and make Abervail the heart of the city of clothing. "Failure is the one thing that makes you succeed, be prepaird to fail because everyone dose but your determinationa and motivation is the one thing that helps you fight to get the one thing everyone wants, SUCCESS"

    • Great to hear things are going well Liam. Thanks for your relections, failing is such an important part of learning and becoming better!
