Anyone who knows me will know how important my friends and family are to me. So I read this article with fascination.

I think I would miss my loved ones too much! But the recent “Deep Time” study in France, investigating the effects of extreme isolation, allowed the participants no phones, watches or natural light, and no contact with family or friends.

How would you fancy living in a cave for forty days?

  • I think it might depend on who was in the cave with you 🤣 Nicky Carnie !  But I do think I would prefer to join you and Siobhan Jaffray at a spa retreat!

Interesting article - thanks for sharing.

    • Now that is true Susan Caldwell that would make a huge difference! 😃

I think there are lots of ways to get away from screen time and social media and what this article has done is make people aware of the benefits of doing it regularly...whether it's getting out into nature or going to the spa 🥰

  • I feel like I have been living in a cave for the last year - but I don't think I could do it without access to a phone!

    • We've certainly been pretty isolated this past year Helen Mill so I can see why you feel you have been living in a cave! There is always something people can't live without and I think lots would draw the line at not having a phone 🤣

  • How do I get the keys to the cave Nicky? And I take it it'll have Sky Sports?

    • Ok, I'll let the cave idea go then!

      • I totally agree with you Andrew...it's not for me either! 🤣

    • If there was Sky Sports available in the cave Andrew Smith I think there would be a queue around the block of sports mad guys looking for peace and quiet to watch it 24/7! 🤣

  • That is a hard no from me! Although some time away from tech wouldnt be a bad thing, perhaps at a spa or yoga retreat rather than a cave.

I think they did similar studied to get more information on the circadian rhythm in humans. Would you do it?

    • You're my kinda girl Siobhan Jaffray a spa or yoga retreat sounds much more palatable than a cave to ensure we reduce our screen time! So it's a big no from me too 😃
