How did they do that?!

Ever wondered how Richard Branson became Richard Branson?

Yes, technically, Mr and Mrs Branson decided upon the name, but how did he get to be so successful? What's he got that you don't? What does any high achiever have that you don't?

That was the starting point for my latest show - The 1% Club Podcast where we meet and ask high achievers "How did you do that?" "What's your secret?" "Was it simply all down to hard work, or a slice of luck?"

We've spoken to best selling authors, multi millionaire entrepreneurs, pioneering musicians, actors, athletes and charity founders, in an effort to establish if their stories have any common threads.

Our hope is to be able to take those commonalities and implement them to create a Toolbox For Success we might all be able to use to make our own lives and careers more frutiful.

Is it possible? The 1% Club Podcast aims to find out. In Episode 1, in the week he races for Gold once again at the Tokyo Paralympics, Paracyclist (and my co-host) Neil Fachie, takes the hotseat to answer the questions, before joining me to ask them from Episode 2, when we meet solo-percussionist and mutli-instrumentalist, Dame Evelyn Glennie.

You can download Episodes 1, 2 and 3 from Monday August 23rd, right here

  • This sounds like a great show, John. And I did always wonder why Richard Branson was called Richard Branson....

    • I'm happy to have solved that for you relatively early on in the day Andrew. Stroke that one off the list. 😆
