Great North Run

Afternoon ABN. Sharing my picture at the start line for the Aberdeen run yesterday. Completed the half marathon in 2h 6mins - chuffed with the time for it being my first half marathon but today feeling it, the legs are stiff!lol. Did anyone else run? if so any top tips for dealing with the stifness?

  • Well done Iain! I was just three minutes in front of you. It was a real struggle in the heat this year.

    As for the stiffness, a nice soak in the bath and some magnesium gel should help for next time if you're stiff after it. I went out with my running club on the Tuesday after and ended up doing 7 miles as I miscalculated the route a bit ;-) A short run can actually help the legs a bit though.

    • Thanks mate! First tune on the playlist was "right here, right now" Fatboy Slim. followed by some heavy metal to keep the energy levels nice and high
