Booze, food and a bed!

It's our anniversary next month. We've been married for a scarily long time but have only been away once since the kids came along. But, I have a babysitter arranged for a night away :-)

I'm looking for recommendations for a nice hotel somewhere local-ish, so we don't spend all our child-free time driving, maybe near to somewhere that does a distillery tous, there's somewhere nice to walk and has good food!

Hit me with some suggestions!

  • Thanks very much Karen. That does look beautiful!
  • Thanks Graeme. I'll have a look at that one.
  • I would recommend the Station Hotel in Rothes. My niece works there.

Its only an hour and a half away from Aberdeen and right in the heart of Speyside with loads of distilleries nearby

Wherever you go have a lovely time and happy Anniversary .

  • That does look beautiful Jessie, definitely one to remember for future breaks! Unfortunately, it's booked out the weekend I'm looking at :-(
  • I cannot think of anywhere better if you don't want to travel too far than the Boat Inn. Amazing food, great drink selection and unrivalled scenery to walk. Sometimes even get an itison voucher for here too!
    • Is that in Aboyne? I'll have a look, thanks. Unfortunately, it falls within the school holidays and a lot of the hotels on itison exclude those dates :-(
  • I love a bit of Aviemore myself. It's an obvious choice, but a good one.
