The Scottish Chamber of Commerce international network is pleased to invite applications from Scottish businesses to a trade mission to Dubai Expo focusing on clean energy and climate change.
 
The global Expo will welcome more than 25million visitors and 190 countries with a stated aim of hosting a World Expo that inspires people by showcasing the best examples of collaboration, innovation and cooperation from around the world.

Having turned its world-leading engineering skills to green energy, Scottish businesses can benefit from the strong sustainability theme that runs through the whole event. Some of the world’s most advanced technology is on show, which makes it the ideal stage for Scottish technical innovation.
 
With Scotland hosting COP26 in November 2021, we know there are a range of stories to be told which will be enlightening and surprising for a general public hungry for solutions to the climate change emergency.
 
Scotland is home to the world’s first floating offshore windfarm and one of Europe’s largest hydrogen bus fleets and a new power plant at Peterhead is the world’s first gas-fired power station equipped with carbon capture storage (CCS) technology to capture up to 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 every year; 15% of the UK’s target by 2030.
 
The Scottish Government will be hosting a Race to Net Zero Hydrogen Day at the UK Pavilion on March 23, showcasing its attributes, key projects and trade and investment opportunities and Scottish businesses will have the opportunity to discuss the value of hydrogen to the economy
 
On March 25, Scotland’s Race to Net Zero Climate Technology Day will be held where innovative business solutions and economic opportunities as part of Scotland’s ambitions to tackle the climate emergency and transition to a net zero economy will be invited to participate.
 
A week of activities is being organised for the delegation, along with some free time to attend Dubai Expo.

This trade mission is open to any business in Scotland looking to access international markets and companies do not need to be a Chamber member.
