World Sleep Day

8683529695?profile=RESIZE_710xSince today is world sleep day I thought that I would do a post to highlight the importance of sleep with aiding fat loss and share some top tips to getting a good night of 💤.

The less you sleep the more likely you are to over eat. This is because lack of sleep increases the hormone Ghrelin (this is what makes you hungry) and decreases leptin (this is the hormone that tells you when you are full). As a result your appetite remains unsatisfied. Studies have shown that with lack of sleep comes poorer food choices with individuals opting for foods in higher caloric value. (sweets, cakes and salty snacks)

Add on top of this a lack of sleep will mean that you won’t have as much energy so are less likely to exercise and more likely to be sedentary.

So basically try to get your 8 hours a night in, a full night of zzzzs will assist you in your fat loss journey. 😴
