The Perfect ABN Headshot

How important is a good headshot?

Are you recognisable in yours?

We're all meeting each other a lot more offline now, and it's been a while! So it's a good idea to update your headshot.

For example.... i've lightened my hair a LOT since my last photo! So i'm off to update mine now...

Don't worry about having a super professional profile photo here on ABNC, although there are a few tips i'd like to share:

  • Using the same photo as your Linkedin profile will help people recognise you between platforms
  • Semi-professional works best (especially if you don't have a professional headshot) so it's best to stay clear of selfies/group shots (and save the partying ones for FB!)
  • Make sure it's clear, close and as up-to-date as possible

Adding a profile photo to ABN Community really helps your online visibility, so make sure you have one!

  • I found it really difficult to update my headshot. In my previous one I had a good head of hair... but now... Not so much.

    • Haha, nothing wrong with that!! Embrace the change!

  • Great post! My hair is slightly lighter than my picture but it's still fairly up to date.

    • It feels like yours were taken recently! The months are flying past

  • Hi Jessie , my hair has been permanely grey for some time so mugshot is still current !!

    • Haha! Yours is an example of a good headshot!

  • Great post!

As a headshot photographer you'd expect me to say this is the most important thing you can do for your business. Is it really? Maybe not BUT one local business owner I photographed recently told me he wanted to have a professional headshot because he believed the added sense of profesionalism might be the one final thing that causes a client to sign-up for his services. Although, like most of us, he didn't relish the idea of being photographed he believed it was a worthwhile investment and was best for business.

    Have a great day!

    Graham.

    • Hi Graham, that's a cool story. Did it win him the client?!

      • Hi! Oh, I took it that he meant clients in general rather than a specific client, sorry for the confusion! 😃

        • Ahh, I thought it must have been someone really really important! 😂
