Good morning all and happy Tuesday!

Love it or loath it - social media is one of the modern-day marketing must-haves... Especially for a visual business like mine. While I do get plenty of enquiries through my website and word of mouth referrals, I also find Facebook and Instagram good enquiry sources, especially for the wedding and animal side of my business.

I don't know about you, but my organic Facebook reach recently took a bit of a nosedive - they must have made changes to the algorithm again. In an attempt to get my organic reach up again I started researching Facebook's algorithm and found this interesting article: https://blog.hootsuite.com/facebook-algorithm/

The article pretty much says that no matter how good your content is, you can't compete against cute puppy pictures... So, here you go!

PUPPIES... ;-)

PS. Joking aside, the article is worth a read, with loads of interesting tips and a brief overview of the FB algorithm history - just in case you don't want to post puppy photos every day.

Have a great day! Iska :-)

  • Thanks for sharing... although I think the mention of yet another puppy could result in divorce! Joking aside, thanks for the article.

    • Haha, I'm sure you can sneak one in somehow! ;-) Once the puppy is home it's too late, your other half will fall in love with it and all will be forgiven... Or am I just being a bad influence now?

  • Just finished reading this, thanks for sharing!

    • I hope you found some useful snippets in the article. Apart from getting a puppy...

  • Interesting article Iska. Thanks for sharing. Also, I'm now bitten by the desire to go and buy a new puppy!

    • You are very welcome! Do you have a dog already? If so, I'm sure he/she would be happy to have a new sibling - whether that's a puppy or a rescue dog. :-)

      • Yes, we have a dog already. Ernie is very.....affectionate! I know lots of people have more than one dog. We've actually kept two from the same litter before (never again!), and we MIGHT at some point recruit another, but Ernie's very happy being an only fur child for the time being!8673501090?profile=RESIZE_930x

        • Ahww, wet kisses from a dog is the best kind of affection! :-) Two from the same litter sounds like double-trouble, haha. I can well imagine, that would have been hard work. Ernie is adorable - what a happy little face!
