Happy International Women's Day

Happy International Women’s Day to all you amazing women out there..

Today I am taking a moment to think about all the woman I am grateful for in my life..including, my mother who raised me on her own after my father died when I was only 4 years old, my mother in law, sadly no longer with us, who not only became a 2nd mother to me but taught me an enormous amount about business, through her entrepreneurial spirit. My sister, one of the most caring people I know, who is a best friend and always there for me, and my 2 daughters, both successful professionals, and wonderful wholesome caring woman.  I could go on, there are so many more women I'd love to name but I'd better keep this brief and let you have some time to think..

..who are the woman you are grateful for in your life?8642539900?profile=RESIZE_710x

  • Thanks for the replies Susanne, Siobhan and Fay. When I worked in Kazakhstan Women' Day was such a big deal - all the men in the office would put money in a kitty to buy all the women flowers, and pay for a big lunch for everyone.  I don't think I'd ever even heard of this date in Scotland, though apparently it's been on the go for many years, but it became a significant date in the calendar to look forward to in Kaz.  AND before any men complain.. there was a men's day too when women reciprocated with gifts and lunch! :-) ..

  • Happy IWD!

  • A lovely post Alice! Lots of ladies in my life to be grateful for. My mum, sister and close friends for sure as we all push and encourage each other.

  •  What a lovely post.
I am grateful for the amazing women in my life who have supported me recently during my marriage breakdown; when many people have walked away, these friends have stuck by my side through it all.
I'm also grateful for the women I have the pleasure of working with who do a brilliant job of supporting children who have experienced bereavement or significant loss.
