We’re looking for two people to join our Board. They’ll strengthen our governance and support to our operational team.

Essential criteria for Board members are that they:
· Buy-in to Glencraft’s core purpose: Dignity through Work
· Demonstrate empathy, professional will and personal humility
· Commit to the time requirements and to fulfilling the duties
· Are prepared to act as an enthusiastic ambassador and role model for Glencraft
· Are prepared to use their specific knowledge and skill to help the Board reach sound decisions
Additionally, it’s desirable though not essential that candidates have lived experience of visual impairment and / or other disadvantage.
We want to have a mix of personal and professional backgrounds on our Board: other than meeting the essential criteria, we’re not looking for any specific skill in our new members. We ask anyone applying to tell us what skills they believe they would bring.
We would like one of the new members already to have skill in being a Board member.
The positions are voluntary and not paid.
