Do you connect online after meeting someone new?

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! 

Since many of us have returned to face-to-face networking, I want to ask how many of you have remembered to connect online after an event/meeting? I was pleasantly surprised to receive some new connection requests post-M4 last week (thanks to those who paid attention to my pitch!)

There's a few reasons why connecting online after an event is a great idea for future relationship-building: 

1. We are curious creatures! Connecting allows the other person to have a snoop and learn even more about you

2. It makes it easier to then reach out later to arrange another meeting (you might loose that business card/forget a surname etc!)

3. Connecting online raises your visibility (each new connection made on ABNC pops up on the homepage)

 

You may also have unanswered connection requests to confirm, here's a tip on how to check

    Excellent reminder! A quick chat at a networking event is just a quick chat! It's what we do afterwards that really develops any new relationship especially

    I always try to connect with people online after (and sometimes even before if I know who is attending a particular meeting or event) - either on here and/or on LinkedIn.

      Interesting! Do you find this then makes f2f introductions easier?

        In many ways it does as both myself and the person(s) I'm meeting has viewed my profile. Makes introducing each other face-to-face easier.

         

        Afterwards also easier, as they have easy access to my profile if they don't have a business card to hand.

         

        However find most people I meet already connected online anyway.

          Me too, especially right now after we've been networking online-only for such a long time!

      Exactly what I like to hear Mark! I love being able to recommend people so i'm thankful for the connection requests and seeing all the different things people do

      Noticed you mentioned that in the podcast too! How did you get on connecting post-M4?
